The Impact of 3x3 for Municipalities
Since 2016, 3X3 Unites has been dedicated to the development of neighborhoods, cities, education, and most importantly, young people. In this, 3x3 basketball is the tool. The goal is to empower young people and, together with local partners, create the largest possible inclusive and enjoyable sports climate where gender, background, education level, sexual orientation, and disabilities that might prevent participation in regular sports do not matter.
3x3 as a Tool for Change
3x3 is an ideal low-threshold and inclusive form of sport that individuals, teams, and organizations can benefit from! We believe that inspiring, supporting, and developing ownership among young people leads to a sustainable sports climate.
What 3X3 Unites Does for Municipalities
By being an inspirer, trainer, and connector, we create support and engagement from many for the development of young people within the social domain. We offer a 3x3 Leader Course designed to help young people develop Life Skills, create job opportunities, and organize 3x3 activities themselves in neighborhoods, schools, associations, youth organizations, and for others in need.
We are active in a large number of municipalities across the Netherlands (from Amsterdam to Heerenveen and from Amersfoort to Dordrecht). So far, more than 1,000 young people worldwide have successfully completed the 3X3 Leader Course. We organize more than 10,000 activities in approximately forty municipalities. Additionally, we offer perspective to young people, who, through the 3X3 Leader Course, can earn an official diploma and a part-time job.
3X3 Leader Course
In 2016, 3X3 Unites launched our first official 3X3 Leader Course. Since then, this course has become the standard for teaching young people Life Skills and forming and activating local communities.
3X3 Legacy Courts
Over the years, it has been repeatedly proven how important well-maintained basketball courts are in the impact that can be made. Based on the desires or development of the local 3X3 Unites community, we strive to renovate or build at least 25 courts each year.

The Impact of Events
Events play a key role in the 3x3 ecosystem for many reasons. They connect the community, give young people the opportunity to further develop their (professional) skills, and increase the reach and impact of the sport. Therefore, we collaborate with municipalities in organizing the 3x3 Street League, the 3x3 PRO League, and many other events.
