World Tour Amsterdam Conference 2024: The Social Impact of Sport
Yes, sport is more than physical movement and has a great potential to positively influence gender equality, mental health and youth employability. But how do you develop an impactful program based on sport, what strategy will get young people moving and how do you measure this impact? More and more NGO’s, local governments and social organizations are dedicated to use this potential of sports and offer sport and youth activities and programs that stimulate also this social impact of sports. However, there is a critical need to better understand the mechanisms behind the success or failure of these programs.
With our World Tour Amsterdam Conference we open the floor to critical discussions to answer key questions such as:
- How do you develop successful programs based on intended impact or an impact strategy?
- What preconditions are important to set up impactful programs and reach the target audience?
- Sensemaking: how to learn from the insights and integrate the results to improve programs and increase gender equality, promote youth employability and/or mental health - especially for young people?
