Team Amsterdam wins both men's and women's 3x3 PRO League Final
What should have been a fantastic Saturday at the Vunzige Deuntjes Festival unfortunately became a PRO League Finals in the indoor venue of the Velodrome in Amsterdam due to the bad weather. Fortunately this was not at the expense of the quality of the competition.
During the 3x3 PRO League Final the stakes were quite high. Not only the prize money of €10.000 for both men and women, but also the tickets to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters and FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Qualifier Amsterdam on October 12 and 13.
In a knockout tournament the best 8 men and 8 women teams from the regular PRO League events competed against each other. The men's final was between team Amsterdam in the Olympic format and team Der Stamm from Germany. In the final it became clear that the Dutch men are in top form for Paris and a convincing win secured a ticket to the Gashouder in October.
For the women it was Katwijk and Amsterdam who made it to the final. Where Katwijk had previously been the best in Utrecht and Amsterdam in Zaltbommel, both teams now made it into a very interesting final which was finally decided in overtime by Amsterdam, so that they too can make their appearance in the Gashouder.
