Jesper Jobse 'very happy' with day 1 of World Tour Amsterdam Masters!

It was already late Saturday night when Jesper Jobse looked into the Gashouder with a broad smile. From the stands, the tournament director couldn't help but conclude that he was “very happy” with the first day of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters.
Jobse promised prior to the tournament that the second edition at the Gashouder would be even more spectacular than the first, which took place exactly one year ago. 'There was even more variety of elements in the venue, even more dynamic design and even more energy from the audience. Of course, the players felt that too. I really enjoyed it,” he said.

What also helped: both Team Amsterdam and Team Utrecht managed to qualify for the quarter-finals. Team Utrecht even caused a resounding surprise by winning against Serbian Ub, which is ranked first in the world. Jobse: 'It can easily become a tournament with a very nice ending.'
There were also two new elements this year: in addition to the men, the women played their own tournament on the same court and in front of the same crowd, and the NK breaking had also been added to the program. That worked out more than well. Also during the games of the women and breaking the audience stayed seated and sympathized.

Jobse: “I found it nice to see that people who come to watch basketball also stayed seated during breaking. Of course you hope for that too, but you never know for sure. Fortunately, they also saw it as a whole and thought it was super cool. Breaking also fits completely with the event we want to put on.'
The same was certainly true of the women, who showed that they too are more than deserving of such a large stage. This is a very good addition. They are good teams and the girls have already achieved great results. They just belong here and should be able to show their talents in the same ambiance as the men.'
Jobse was already looking forward to Day 2. 'Day 1 was top, but day 2 has to be even better. We have built the show carefully. On day 2 the roof will really come off.'
